i think how the cpu works is this,the 360 cpu is a stripped down version of a celeron with 3 cores with hyperthreading because without hyperthreading games would run pants.Now the wii u cpu is a modified wii broadway,but the wii cpu is a gpucpu that is not a stripped down version like the 360 cpu,infact broadway/not stripped down cpu,is a beast running at lower clockspeeds.now if the wii u was running say 2ghz it would wipe the floor with 360s cpu,but if true 1.2ghz then it is just as powerful as a stripped down celeron at 3.2ghz.
so in all devs are being lazy or inpatient and the wii u is a slightly better current gen console or on par with current gen.
At the sametime it wouldnt have been hard to make it 3.2ghz then it would of had had some serious grunt.it boils down to ninty making profit over pleasing gamers?

If you want more evidence that MHz isn't everything, a little birdie points out that Durango (Xbox 720) is specc'ed to have a 1.6GHz CPU.

This is obviously where 'Durango has 16 cores' came from.

What'll make Wii U weaker than 720/PS4 next gen isn't GHz, but the number of cores, the amount/speed of ram, and the GPU they have versus Wii U. If 720/PS4 have 6-8 cores while Wii U has 3 and it's 1.6 vs. 1.2 for each core, you're looking at a sizeable, but not insurmountable difference in power.

I personally think the wiiU's GPU will keep it competing well into next gen. A side note Crysis 3's system requirements were just announced and the minimum requirement for cpu is any basic dual core cpu.

If true that would make the rumored E6760 gpu in the wii u stronger than the 7670 in the ps4 and 6670 in the next xbox. Went to gpureview.com and did a lil comparing and the wiiu gpu is considerably stronger than the other 2, with the other 2 consoles probably having better cpus. This is all rumors and im not sure if the E6760 in the wiiu is whats actually in it, but who knows, id like to know what you guys think, with sony losing alot of money and xbox going after casuals with kinect i dont see this to be untrue.

Regarding the stuff I'm hearing about the potential cards being used in the PS4 and Xbox 720, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe for this gen I'll stick dominantly to the Wii U and PC, at least until the other systems reach a price point and get games I REALLY want (looking at you Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and Halo 5).

My PC already has a CPU that I think will be better than those two systems (six core AMD processor, 3.5 GHz speed), and I'm also planning on upgrading to an nVidia GeForce GTX 660 in the coming months (best card I can afford right now), and just going by things like the Crysis 3 system requirements and what cards they've been testing Unreal Engine 4 on I feel like my PC will be able to actually outdo Sony and Microsoft's upcoming consoles. In that case, I think I'll stick with Steam and Wii U for the time being.

Well, it was more of a general conception that the other consoles would make the difference with the extra processing power overall and not just graphs, but I have a really hard time believing this, there are more rumors that point to powerhouses (Sony wants to go 4K lol).

I'm sure that MS can afford to take a loss on their next Xbox, but Sony sure as hell can't. Going 4K would definitely cause them to lose money on their hardware at the start.

Also, keep in mind that MS's and Sony's next system will have more ram. The rumor is that PS4 will have ram that's 3x faster than that in the next Xbox and Wii U, despite having a size gap. When you factor in that and that those systems will have 4-8 CPU cores, it does make them about 4-5 times more powerful than Wii U.

the E6760 isn't on gpureview

The E stands for embedded. as in low power with only 30ish watts(less probably). it is beyond outclassed by a real GPU like a GTX5xx or GTX6xx, to say nothing of a 7xxx series card from AMD.

The speed of the ram doesn't effect anything except how long it takes information to move between the CPU and ram. Actual load times are restricted by the speed of either the hard drive or the disc drive, depending on where the game is stored. Next generation the speed of the ram will make absolutely no difference. he speed of ram quite being relevant years ago it's so fast right now that even the slowest ram available still is so fast that any not running a ram centric benchmark would never notice a difference, In fact, slower ram reduces read and write errors.

I can't speak specific numbers but the PS3's disc drive was noticeably slower than the 360's which is why it had such excruciating load times on non installed multiplatform games. If anything I can almost guarantee it will be faster than the PS3's aging 1st generation blue ray drive.

The 360's is up for debate ,though, because there has not been any noticeable advancements in disc technology over the past 7 years The only thing that has really happened (that I am aware of) are minor touch ups to the blue-ray format.

You cannot compare clock speeds or core counts to know how powerful a processor unless it's the exact same processor line.

An i7 clocked a 3.6ghz would be twice as powerful as the same i7 clocked at 1.8

An i7 clocked at 1.8 ghz would run circles around a pentium 4 clocked at 3.6. even in single core performance.

Core count doesn't mean much either in raw power if that was the case AMD's bulldozer 8100 would run circles around a quad core i7 but the latest i7 cpu's trumps it in every way.

Ram count is quite literal but that still doesn't translate to real world performance some of the most demanding games on the market today barely reach 4gb of ram usage and many high end PC games still use under 2.

So I came here to know honestly and whatever the true is. How much difference we will see between the three consoles and how the Wii U stands there. Thanks

Yeah, there are more Sony drones on GAF than Nintendo or Microsoft ones.
The Jaguar cores in PS4 are weak laptop CPUs. So far, the specs of both Next box and PS4 are unimpressive.
