Wii U Adapter Compatibilty

I had to purchase an adapter for the "AV MULTI OUT" slot on the back of the Wii. (The large one at the bottom.) Will this adapter be compatible with the Wii U? I've looked at the back of both consoles, and the slots look identical.

The regular white, red, and yellow cords didn't work. The adapter replaced them with 5 cords instead of the 3.

The cord says "Advance Performance Component Video and Stereo Audio Cable" on it.

the ones you have will give out a better sound and picture quality too. It'll be higher rez then standard def but not quite HD.

i used to run my 360 in 1080p with component cables. not as good as hdmi, but will still look great.
