The biggest problem I have about GameStop is that I'm mocked for not buying FPS's... I try to avoid shopping there when I can.

who mocks you? certainly not the staff, money is money. other customers? deal with it. like I care that some high-school kid half my age thinks what I buy is dumb.

To be fair, years ago when I went to a GS to pick up a copy of Dewy's Adventure, because I had money to burn and it looked interesting (would have been good if not for controls), because of the "super cute" nature of the graphics, I did actually get a remark from the employee who was ringing me up, something along the lines of "are you really getting this"? I didn't appreciate it, I'll buy what I want, "kids game" or not, and he can take my money and shut the f*** up.

My store is atleast opening 2 hours earlier. I really was looking forward to a midnight launch and playing Zombi U most of the night, but even though i'm disappointed it's no biggie.

The main reason I'm upset by this is because I was told when pre-ordering it that my store would have a midnight launch. In their defense though, things could have changed since then or they didn't have all the information. At this point I really don't care that much anymore. I just want the damn thing in my setup.

So I finally got around to asking the GS I pre-ordered from whether or not they were going to do it. Naturally, the answer was "no". I then asked if they were AT LEAST going to open early on Sun. Answer? "No". In fact, THAT GS is so especially lazy, that apparently they won't be opening until 11am. Isn't that just fuckin' fantastic? When I asked the guy why, he gave me some spiel about "Well, we usually only do midnight releases or whatever for games that have high pre-order rates, and we only got like, what, 10 Wii Us?" Even though every GS (three) in town sold out of pre-orders within a day?

My theory, is that he's full of sh**. Not that I don't disbelieve him about them not doing it. I figured they wouldn't. But to anyone still clinging to this notion that "oh no, they're not biased against Nintendo products or gamers, they want your money". Yeah. Sure thing. But if this was the Xbox 3, it'd be Midnight Launch city. That's a guarantee.

Sucks. So it seems like my dad bought the wii u deluxe a long time ago and it was shipped yesterday. So it might come today, tomorrow, or Monday to my house. So lucky for me I don't have to wait. Hope you guys get a wii U before it runs out.

Called mine. They flat out said 'no'. KINDA rudish, but oh well. I hope then, the PS4 and Xbox 720 don't have one either. I can understand if it's a safety issue.

My Gamestop actually called me and told me they wanted to do a midnight launch but that they couldnt. They will be open at 10am which is fine with me. Ill run to Family Video at 10am and rent a bunch of WiiU games(called and they will have them first thing) then run and get my WiiU. I dont know if its everywhere(i live in Michigan) but Family Video has a deal of $9.99 gets you a month of half price rentals. pays for itself after renting 3 games.

You do realize that not many people thought of doing this..? Bringing it up (with a threat too!) just encourages someone to do it for the "lols!1". Not a wise move.

Huh, that's the first time I've seen a game shop employee trying to stop anyone from buying a game...

Happened to me. When I was buying my Wii the Gamestop employee tried talking me out of a Wii. He said nothing interesting was going to be on it and that it was in standard definition. I rebutted with Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, etc. and he just thought I was stupid for getting a Wii, so after I picked it up I emailed Gamestop and complained about the horrible and unprofessional service. I never did see him again...

Yeah, bet that guy got fired. What game shop employee tries to talk their customers out of buying something?
