5 Months later... how's your Gamepad holding up?

hey ive been playing the WiiU and noticed at some point yesterday that my gamepad was making a noise like something was loose inside. i hear it when i tip the gamepad screen downwards toward me. it coming from the right side of the gamepad and at first i thought maybe it was the stylus but after taking it out it still makes that sound. it doesnt sound like anything is broken because its not rattling all around, it just in the one spot as i tilt back and forth.

im thinking now maybes its a gyroscope or accellerometer but i dont know if those would be making a noise. anyone else notice this with their pad?

You're sure it's not the face buttons (ABXY)? They're sitting loose in there. I hear it to when I'm tilting, but it's coming from the face buttons for me.

i was playing some nsmbu this morning and the light was on over my shoulder and glaring on the gamepad. i tilted the gamepad slightly and noticed 2 bubble under the screen. they almost look like how motor oil does in a puddle of water. i can put my finger on them and they move or disappear but then come right back when i lift my finger. im not sure what caused this since i didnt notice anything last night but the light wasnt glaring right on it.

by the way, its not dirty. i can wipe off the screen and still see it there. anyone have any thoughts on this?

I'm curious to know how everyone's Gamepad is holding up almost half a year later? I ask because of the fact that Gamepads are currently not being sold individually and also the fact that once they are eventually sold it is speculated to cost around $100 for one.

Mine is currently holding up pretty decently aside from a minor touch screen scratch from the stylus (never using that again!) and a couple minor blemishes to the shiny face plate.

Haha I hear ya. I bought a couple of microfiber clothes for that very reason. That and to wipe the touchscreen down every so often.

Mines pretty good except like two very faint scratches and one noticeable one that is really not that bad but has me pretty upset.
I learned from playing Kid Icarus Uprising the damage styluses can do

Mine has small specks of dirt and a faint scratch near the top right.

I think a White Gamepad would be worse. My brother played with the White Pro and it's starting to yellow.. imagine your gamepad doing that!

No problems here. Got a white, so dirt and fingerprints aren't a big issue. Only thing I'm worried about is potential scratching, what with all the drawing I do.

Mine is doing pretty good. Works perfectly.

I have to agree on the yellowing issue. all of my original Wii analog sticks and D-pads are now yellowish.

Don't have to worry about scratches. I learned from my DS, so now my 3DS and Wii U get screen protectors.

One of the screw covers started to tear from me putting it in and out of one of the nerf case things (it was an impulse buy on launch day) so I tore it off. Other than that, it's holding up.

The GamePad itself is just loaded in finger prints. I try to remember to wipe it down before anyone else comes over to use it.
The touch screen is fine because I put a screen protector on it as soon as I took it out of the box on launch day.

Still works perfectly, but has tons of fingerprints (just to be expected) and it seems to have a few tiny scratches on the screen (nothing noticeable)

My Gamepad (Should have been named UPad!) is just like new. ^^ Some fingerprints (black one), sure, but that is easily fixed. Really love the Gamepad so far, but... I need more games to play it with.. ^^"

A screen protector is what you need, friend. I got one and one fateful night I had a hardly visible piece of something when drawing, I saw that line dig deep. I have no regrets getting one.

And by the by, scratches are why you DON'T use the stylus for anything rapid and/or scratchy kind of motions on the touch screen. If it requires more than gentle tapping, use your finger.

Thing is some people's hand (like mine) aren't cut out for the dragging and just on screens. So, knowing cratches are inevitable with styluses, I got the screen protection to begin with.
