I know a lot of die-hard Metal Gear fans that have 0 interest in Rising. And they said that before Platinum Games took over.

And then there are folks like me, who had zero interest in Rising until Platinum Games took over.

Kinect tech demos do nothing for me.

For the WiiU, it's mostly Rayman, Pikmin3, maybe MonHun. Also W101 and Bayo2. But nothing i'm super excited for, for now. 2013 looks already like an incredible year for the 3DS (outside of japan, that is !). For WiiU, we'll have to wait for other annoucements.

Well obviously no studio has a perfect track record ('sup Okami and MadWorld). Still, I feel fairly comfortable calling Platinum Games an above-average dev when they stick to what they know. For instance, one either understands the appeal of a man dressed as a mariachi using a sword to take down a three-story-tall robot while heavy-metal plays, or one does not.

I agree the games are not for everyone.

Fortunately, there are those of us whom those games are for. And since they are going to be releasing three-maybe-four of them in the next year, 2013 looks like it is going to treat P* fans real nice. :-)

I haven't played Pokemon Black 2, Denpa Men or Pushmo/Crashmo, so if that's what you're talking about then I can understand. Otherwise, if by "high" you mean high standards, then indeed I do!

You would be surprised how many MGS fans' interest dropped to zero after Platinum took over. So many comments everywhere about how the original build was apparently more "realistic" and "MGS-like".

I was sort of interested in it being a huge MGS fan, but I'm kind of in the same boat as Hamr. It was a Kinect tech demo. The action was slow and boring and the chopping people to bits mechanics seemed so gimmicky. It still kind of does, but at least with Platinum we can expect a competent action game. I don't really like the underwhelming stealth sequences they're shoe-horning into the game to appease idiot fans, but whatever.

Oh yeah, I want Dark Souls 2, but I don't think it'll be released this year. And maybe for Dragon Quest X, but it looks like a fusion of WoW and DQIX both of which suck...

no, I mean 'high' as in inebriated. crashmo wouldn't make a top 10 of all games released in 2012. neither. Denpa men wouldn't make a top 100 list.

After thinking about it a bit, I'm honestly not really excited about anything coming out in 2013 that I know of.

Weird.

Except for my 3DS (which I got as a cheap upgrade), I've been pretty far behind the curve in picking up systems (only just got a PS3) and I'm just going to be checking out older stuff I've missed. I'm kind of curious to see if there's any interesting new ideas in Pikmin 3 such as new Pikmin types, but the game doesn't really seem to break much new ground from what I've seen, so I can't say I'm really excited about it. In a similar vein, I so far have no interest in getting a Wii U. The only game out for it that I'd be interested in buying is NSMBU, and that looks a bit underwhelming.

I will get 80% of the rest, but not until 2014. That's how pretty much every year works for me.
