Ugh...so much media bias going on against the big N. I only buy Nintendo. I am biased too. Just have to deal with it I guess. But, bias in the media affects a much wider audience than I could ever affect. I've brought my Wii U to a bunch of parties and it was the center of the event. Everyone who played with it loved it including people who so clearly had a distaste for the original Wii.

Wii U is a next Gen console that does revolutionary things by bringing something new to console gaming, while still retaining traditional aspects as well.

well aside from that...the review seems fairly on point. Thanks to lazy development or lack of optimizing; the wiiu hasnt yet proven without a shadow of a doubt that we need it just yet.

I definitely plan on getting one...but ultimately decided to wait till sometime next year when we start getting some Triple A efforts that are either from nintendo or some must have exclusives...and hopefully at a better price point

Yeah the review is quite ok, myself I won't be buying before winter 2013, when the first big Nintendo title can be expected. Too bad they didn't even announce a 3D mario / Zelda / Mario Kart yet, which means a looong time waiting :/

Which is fine with me since I have no interest in watching a "so-called" review.

It's funny that Nintendo has to prove anything when Sony and MS can release rehashed system after rehashed system and no one seems to question it... ever. Just pump up the power. No one will notice they're playing the same games except dumbed down, shorter, and filled with more bugs.

Has gaming today really gotten so bad that if it's not homogenized mush that it's not worth exiting at all?

I'm sorry but this review is NOT BIASED.
stop abusing the word bias, it's getting ridiculous. I agree with this review, infact it's pretty spot on and super in depth.

nintendo fan boys need to get this stupid idea out their head that everywhere that doesn't worship Nintendo is biased because it's getting annoying

so tp was a killer app and only sold about 3 million on wii

but mario U isnt? which has the potential to sell 10+ million in its lifetime?

At least they didnt slap a ridiculous score on

How can you measure the quality of a game by the amount of units that it sells? If you do, then you probably think that all GameCube games were crap.

I don't understand most of the comments here. The Wii U has a lot to prove in its future. Its launch lineup is dominated by ports from other platforms and sequels. This review seems perfectly fair to me.

Other than the analog buttons needed for shooters nonsense it was a reasonable review.

I agree with him that there is no system seller. That's why I am not sure if I will be getting a WiiU on day one (plus the ridiculous price here in europe ofc).

Review of the review:

The good:

- The online is great
- The Mii community thing is awesome
- The gamepad is interesting and good
- The price is fair
- Upscalled Wii game to HD res

The bad:

- You have to update in order to have all functions working
- Long load times on the OS
- The initial line-up is just decent
- You can't use a headset on the classic controller

I'm sad. I wanted to defend Wii U, but I won't, because there's no defense possible. Nintendo will just have to step up their game in the next E3.

I'll eventually buy one, but I'll wait until after the next E3.

It depends on what the term "killer app" means to you. If it means quality game based on its reviews, then the Wii U has no killer app. If it means a game that will get people to buy the damn system, then maybe NSMBU is that killer app. For some people, ZombiU might be the killer Wii U launch title.

That wasn't as negative as some people claimed. It was actually pretty realistic. It pretty much voiced the concerns of most Wii U owners in a neutral manner. And it praised the Wii U accordingly on its good points... not sure what's with all the negativity against this review...
