I'm not sure Mother 3 uses sampled music. Mother 2, yes. But if I'm not mistaken, Mother3's music is original composition. The problem with Mother 3 was that it was a GBA game in 2006, and also that it has uncommon stuff in it, like magypsies, halucinogeneous mushrooms, male mermaid kissing everyone in your party, and also evoques subjects like death, animal cruelty, etc...
It's not an easy game to market, since it looks like a kids game. And it's not really.
