I'm surprised the Gamecube sold that many at launch, considering its fate of being third place. Also, original XBOX selling that many units at launch, I didn't know that. I knew Halo was a big game at launch, but still...

@shellshocker
To be fair, the GC had nearly double the amount of time according to the chart.

Sadly, We're screwed in terms of games for the Wii U
as i speak there are hardly any games announced for it nor do we have any announcements of either when Nintendo TVii is coming out or what to expect in terms of the Wii U's virtual console

It's like Nintendo has screwed themselves over

Hardware wise, eh, not bad. But those estimated software sales look... sh**ty. At best. It's an estimate though, so... *shrug*.

As we have talked about before, those software numbers just don't seem to make a lot of sense.

Well, Nintendo said and the Wii U says that Nintendo TVii is coming out in December, so this month some time. As for the Virtual Console thing, I do find that just odd considering it was on the Wii day one pretty much...what exactly has Nintendo been doing on certain aspects, I have no idea. Virtual Console support day one on the Wii U should have been there, with all games at least from Nintendo able to be played on just the GamePad. The Wii to Wii U console transfer could still happen and be setup the way it is, but not having it on the Wii U is very odd. Maybe they're doing it for third parties? Letting the early eShop games get sales without competition from older games?

...so the software attachment rate was notably lower than average (even with downloads I'd be astounded if this made it as high as the much cheaper Wii)? And Pachter wasn't wrong or flat out lying like everyone said?

This time last year it was "It's December and still no Ambassador GBA games" ;) It'll just pop up one day, there'll maybe be one or two days notice and then... *pop*.

"Sadly, We're screwed in terms of games for the Wii U

Here's a few:

Wonderful 101, Injustice, MH3 Ultimate, Bayonetta 2, Dragon Quest X, Aliens, Pikmin 3, and Rayman Legends. Then there's the unannounced to consider; new 3D Marios and Zeldas, the new Call of Duty games, and whatnot.

Edit: I forgot to mention the Smash Bros. sequel
