The history of hardware launch review scores

Wait how many games did Ps2 have at launch? Oh well Wii U is still one AWESOME system. I can't wait to see how the 8th Gen will change gaming!

Best consoles missing!

SEGA Genesis (Mega Drive) and SEGA Saturn are missing badly in these stats.

Why do I feel this article is going to be used as "fool-proof" evidence the Wii U somehow fails? Has anyone played the launch games that were reviewed well then nowadays, over half the good ones on PS2 are just horrid now, goes for any new system (minus first party efforts). Red Steel being a prime example for the Wii itself.

Eh, where's the NES, SNES, Master System, Megadrive, Saturn...

I bet the SNES would be up there with the best of those stats.

Real numbers from these times are hard to come by, and there wasn't a lot of reviews back then.

Reading the comments, many actually use this as proof that game reviewers are out of touch, because the best selling console all ends up having lower average reviews. Also, they are the one with the most launch games (PS2/Wii) and the ones with better reviews but less games (GameCube/N64) do somewhat worst.
Shy Guy? How did I return to that?? I was a Koopa? ... AWESOME!
