I'll just get this out of the way - Project M is sweet, not because it's like Melee, but because it breathes fresh life into an old game and makes it a quicker, more balanced, and more rewarding game to boot.

"- All controller lag present in Brawl and prior versions of Project M eliminated"

This alone deserves upvotes and I expect that this tweak will be applied to all Brawl mods after it's released

Why on earth the game had an omnipresent (even in MENUS!) lag of several frames applied to every controller input is beyond my comprehension

It's definitely playable on WiiU. However, the mod-less method requires you to put the SD card in after you boot into Wii mode. The WiiU deletes it otherwise. And no Gamecube controllers, obviously.

I'd love to try this out but I've never hacked my Wii. :?

Its sitting around collecting dust ever since before I got my Wii U, so I might as well put it to good use now. Maybe I should start with this. :)

Whoa, I had no idea that Crew Mode was in the works, that's really exciting. I hope that they do something with it at Apex next month.

Technically speaking you don't have to hack your Wii. There's a version that'll use your SD card to temporarily hijack it more or less as a game genie would.

Anyhow, it's live for anyone who's reading this now: http://projectm.dantarion.com/

@crispy4001
Really? If so this makes things really convenient for me. Thanks! :)

Now all I got to do besides trying this is figure out how to play mods for MKwii then I'll have hours of enjoyment at my disposal once again from my Wii. Nice. ^_^

Project M Demo 2.5 - updates detailed

Postby Leon2457 » 29 Dec 2012 15:23

Back in the day I got a Freeloader and the USA version, then went and got a PAL copy.

As somebody who enjoys Brawl as my favourite entry in the series even with it's "slower" mechanics, I have to say to any nay-sayers who shrug this off before they try it.

Please, give it a go, I myself was skeptical too, but like Darth Vader said, it truly brings back some life into the game, it's incredibly fun.
Considering I've been playing Video Games since I was 3 years old, I'm still pretty terrible at them
