RUMOR - Activision dropping James Bond license?

Is Activision in the middle of dropping the James Bond license? Without explanation, Activision-published James Bond titles have been yanked from both Steam and Activision's own web store. Is it time for the license to move on to another company? Thanks to Dim for the heads up.

Activision only have themselves to blame, Bond is at it's most popular right now and Skyfall is the most successful Bond movie of all time, it's actually getting to the point of Dark Knight profit! Put a good developer behind a new game, give them time and they could have a huge hit on their hand. Instead they seem to have gotten Eurocom (who can do great games with the good amount of time) to knock out a quick cheap title that has done really badly.

Nintendo, though it would be out of character, get the license. Make it a Wii U exclusive featuring the GamePad as the ultimate spy gadget. Make it an open world game wherein you get your mission but can complete it in anyway you see fit. Wear a disguise to sneak passed? Find a window, air duct or sewer to get in? Bribe a guard? Or go in guns blazing? Let the player decide the best approach for the situation and make use of the various spy gadgets to ensure success.

Also, allow the player to tie their 3DS to the game. Send them Spotpass messages from M contacting Bond about time sensitive missions.

That would be a nice change of pace from all the shooters. We don't see enough of Bond being a SPY

I wonder if Microsoft will swoop in and nab the license.
I could see Microsoft making 007 one of the most wanted games for the next Xbox.

No, Nintendo still has pieces of the license. Was that not explained the first time they tried to publish it?

You want Goldeneye released on a digital platform, Nintendo would have to buy the license. Very unlikely... but it would be a good idea on their part.

It could do wonders for both the Wii U & the 3DS if Nintendo picked up the 007 License.

Actually Goldeneye (N64) is owned by multiple parties:

Microsoft/Rare: they own most of the code
Nintendo: owns some of the code and publishing rights
The 007 license is held by MGM and is licensed to a developer/publisher.

So yeah no one can get a version of the N64 game without all three parties signing off.

Actually I own Legends and it is a decent game.
I enjoyed beating it.
