THQ will auction off its titles and assets piecemeal in an auction on Jan. 22 as agreed upon by participating parties in today's hearing, according to a tweet from DDI.

I hope a "good" publisher buys South park: The Stick of Truth. That's the only THQ game i'm interested in.

I'm placing bets Activision will pick up South Park, Nintendo will pick up De Blob, Microsoft will pick up Darksiders, and WB will pick up Saints Row.

The wrestling fan in me likes to see where WWE games will end up. But I can't say I am all that interested for the rest of THQ's franchises as I don't play a lot of them as it is.

Nintendo should pick up Darksider's since it's very similar to Zelda (in some aspects--not all). It would be like Boyonetta 2 all over again--a franchise with no publisher, but picked up by Nintendo. Wow, the 360/PS3 fanboy hate would be rampant!

I can't see Nintendo buying a lot of these franchises; more than likely Ubisoft, EA, and Warner will get them. I actually hope they also get the studios behind them as those people deserve a little security in their lives.

I think Darksiders would be good for Square-Enix to pick up. They've done a lot of mature, western-oriented titles through acquisitions (Hitman, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, etc.), and I think the Darksiders franchise would benefit from their expertise.

At any rate, I loved II so much that I went and bought the first one twenty minutes after I finished it, so I hope something good happens to the series instead of it dying off or ending up in the hands of a bad publisher (Activision, et al.).

I don't see Nintendo grabbing them. At least, none of the big ones. They might snag a few of the smaller ones that just fall through the cracks and they go "Ah, screw it, it's cheap."
