'No chance' for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 on Wii U

Coming from producer David Cox, when asked about Lords of Shadow 2 on Wii U.

Sorry to disappoint you but no chance.

I can't understand why the Wii U won't get the game. It's the perfect tie-in for Mirror of Fate! Thanks to Alan for the heads up!

If it would be profitable, they would probably do it.

at least he was honest and said "no chance" instead of the bullshit "we don't want to do it unless we can do something unique with the gamepad!"

Gaming companies are notorious wen it comes to forgoing profits in exchange for their image.

Gaming companies don't want to be associated with Nintendo's kiddy image even if it means losing out on more money

Gaming companies don't generally put profits first

All we know it was very easy and cheap for Vigil to port the game to Wii U.
So it shouldn't need a lot of copies sold to turn a profit.

Also THQ was done in because most of their games were licensed shovelware no one bought and spending tons of money on uDraw for PS3/360 which literally no one bought!

It may be time for Nintendo to start spending some money and buying third party exclusives or even IPs.

Not sure of the disconnect but we do know that most game makers are not very good at business.

It's tough since the install base is very small compared to the 360/PS3. Alot of big games are coming out in the next 5 months that won't be on the Wii-U. Hopefully the more people that get a Wii-U, the more that support 3rd parties. Aliens is a good example of an upcoming 3rd party multi-plat game that is coming out on all systems at once. Hopefully the Wii-U version makes some noise come Feb 12th and sends a message to developers that Wii-U players want to play.

They've done that since the GC.
But 3rd parties rejected their offers because they didn't want to work with Nintendo and/or be exclusive to them!

You can't make 3rd parties take your money if they don't want it.

So far Nintendo has bought the following in the past two years:
*Fatal Frame IP
*NDCube(developer)
*monolithsoft (developer)
*Lego City: Undercover (exclusive)
*Monster Hunter exclusive
*Dragon Quest exclusive
*Paid Namco to release Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U
*Scribblenauts as an exclusive with added content
*EA got something for releasing ME3 on Wii U

There is more we don't know about yet!

Again 3rd parties have been turning Nintendo down for over 10 years!

Unfortunately that is how third parties work across the board now. Rarely do we see exclusive 3rd party games anymore for any system. Since development cost so much, they almost have to go multiplat just so that they can make more money. Nintendo should focus more on getting into the party instead of trying to buy exclusives.
