That's not true at all.
Gaming companies are notorious wen it comes to forgoing profits in exchange for their image.
Gaming companies don't want to be associated with Nintendo's kiddy image even if it means losing out on more money

Plus, Darksiders II has a similar style and is on Wii U and everybody seems to be ok with THQ and Vigil for that (but we don't know how well it sold, do we?)
