Awesome, can't wait. I'm pretty surprised they are coming so soon, and with a simultaneous worldwide release.

Froakie is my favorite. I don't like the leaf pokemon since it reminds me so much of Dewott. I think the art style would look alot better if the 3ds resolution was higher. some parts of the trailer just looked like a jaggie nightmare. Pretty happy that it is a worldwide release since we wont have to wait after Japan now , whoopeee

Pokemon X and Y - gameplay footage

Postby Ry » 08 Jan 2013 07:42

Honestly, I like these designs a lot more than Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott which to me was the only gen that I didn't like. If there's one thing I'm hoping for out of these starters and I'm sure I'm not the only one...please no more fire/fighting combination!

The Jagged due to the video and it could be an alpha build, second I think I'll either go for the Grass or the Water started depending on their later forms.

It's a collection of at least three Pokémon, or two and a trainer. I can make out Golurk but I'm not sure about the others.

I figured it out. It is a knight with a Palpitoad, Golurk, and Eevee in the Golurk's hand.

funny how if someone voices an opinion that someone else doesn't like they're automatically passed off as some kind of 'hater'. i actually like pokemon. i have since i was a kid. but i'm not crazy about those starter designs. doesn't mean i won't buy the game though. so don't start with me kiddies.

Not really sold on the Grass and Water starter but YAY NEW POKEMON GENERATION. Looks like for once something that was hyped wasn't OVERhyped. Also, couldn't they choose something different than the versions being colored red and blue again, this will be the third red/blue one.

I just don't like Froakie's design, which sucks since I always start out with water types. :/

I usually get the water starter....but this time getting the fire type starter this time. Well...I'll buy both games, so will get the frog one too.

Pokemon X and Y - gameplay footage, screens

I hope the don't hold back Pokemon so they can later sell them to us as DLC.
I'm also hoping the visuals turn out a lot better. It looks kinda ugly (I know it's not final). The 3DS is more than capable than this.

Thankfully Masuada hates DLC with a passion.

Also these games are supposed to be a mixture of Cel-shade and polygons.

Pokemon X and Y - gameplay footage, screens

Postby metalpants » 08 Jan 2013 12:33

I was actually impressed by the Pokémon 3D models (not the overworld trainer model walking around). They look as if hand-drawn which is amazing!! Not many cel-shaded games nail it the way they mean to. I think I'll have to buy this one :D. Looks fun in just about every aspect.
