REPORT - EA being sued for tattoo in NFL Street

Electronic Arts Inc. and former NFL running back Ricky Williams were sued recently in Louisiana federal cort by a tattoo artist who claims EA used his copyrighted artwork when it put Williams on the cover of its “NFL Street” video game.

Looks like this is becoming a trend. Another tattoo artist sued THQ because of Carlos Condit's tattoo.

Fun fact. I worked on NFL Street 1-3. And work(Ed) at THQ. Maybe they're really after me...

It's big companies like EA who have pushed for this sort of legal limbo so they could use these abused laws against their competitors. If enough people turn the tables on them and use their twisted legal garbage against them then maybe they'd begin to realize that they not only screwed all of us, but themselves as well.

It is a tattoo, the whole world sees it. So are you saying that if Ricky Williams does a commercial as well and you see his tattoo than this guy has a right to sue them as well

I don't normally defend EA, but in my opinion, it's considered a part of him so it's just retarded to sue for that.

The system is BROKEN. It's because of companies like EA that it is broken. If they start to suffer from the issues that they have caused in order to tip the system in their favor then that is on them.

And it might actually lead to someone realizing that it's well beyond time to fix things.

Pretty sure THQ fell in a similar lawsuit and they won.. you can't copyright the tattoo iirc.
