maybe they are saying that due to the bad software sales on the WiiU outside of first party Publishing(Nintendo Land 1,090,000, New Super Mario Bros U 840,000).
The total sales of all 4 titles combined(Fifa 13, Mass effect 3, NFL 13, Need for Speed: Most Wanted U) is only 190,000, considering the hard work put in some of these titles, (Need for speed, I'm specifically looking at you), I'm not shocked they don't want to support the WiiU with DLC or next years annual sport releases, there isn't enough consumer base to warrant profit back from porting the extra content. edit: source http://www.vgchartz.com/platform/47/wii-u/

disclaimer: I'm not defending EA, it sucks that we don't get the games we want, but in the end, EA is a company out to make money, and from that angle, the WiiU isn't a profitable investment YET
