"EA's stated strategy is fewer, bigger brands. Of the many new IPs developed for this generation, only Army of Two, Dead Space and Dragon Age continue to see new versions. As far as I can tell from publicly facing information, creating innovative, new IPs just isn't a priority for the organization." - Ethan Levy, a former BioWare San Francisco producer

When companies start shoving off new ideas, the industry starts to sag. Hopefully this will change with new hardware out there, as pubs are more interested in releasing original IP closer to a console's launch.

You know, very very briefly, EA was doing good. They released a whole string of original, quality IPs in a short amount of time. Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Army of Two, Kane and Lynch, Brutal Legend, Dragon Age: Origins, Shadows of the Damned, etc.

I miss those days.

This is why video games are trending downwards.
When you stop innovating, you start to die.

The only thing EA cares about is cheap, quick, easy money. If they really wanted to make the most money, they would release less (paid) DLC, release higher quality games, and constantly try to come up with new ideas for existing IPS and potentially new IPs.
