New Super Mario Bros. Wii Vs. U - graphical comparison

Anyone that played NSMBWii in a HDTV saw that kind of blurry, both games use the same engine, but the Wii U version of course is HD, that´s is why NSMB Wii in the Dolphin looks almost the same...

@Vidaluko
But even with HD on dolphin, the game still doesn't use HD textures and assets. They look quite different.

Very lazy of them to use old footage captured off a Wii's analog outputs, instead of over the Wii U's new HDMI port.

^^ This. They simply didn't use the Wii U backward compatibility to make this video. That would have been a more interesting choice and you could compare the games a little better (in my opinion).

According to RMC himself, backwards compatibility won't be available until the system is actually on sale (and an update is pushed out).

The two key things to remember here are:

1. NSMB Wii already looked fantastic.

2. While you can certainly tell the difference, you don't REALLY get the full effect of how much better U will look without actually playing it in person on an HDTV.

Regardless, U will look amazing, but the fact of the matter is, contrary to what some people seemed to think, Wii already looked gorgeous. Not "Mario Galaxy" gorgeous, not in that stunning detail type of way, no. But in that "Wow, this looks completely smooth and fluid and polished and awesome for a 2D Mario" type of way.
