It certainly makes sense, but let's hope that if Borderlands 3 comes into existence one day, a Wii U version will be included.

Exactly. There are people who were left out, and having a Wii U could have been an excellent chance to become fans of the franchise.

Yea..... because Borderlands 2 isn't one of the games that would benefit the most from having the menu on a separate screen and having 2 separate screens for local coop. If PC wasn't an option, I would want this on Wii U hands down.

Seriously, Borderlands (1 and 2) has some of the worst inventory management ever and they can't think of anything the Wii U could offer? I guess that explains a lot, actually.

Course, I prefer it on PC and already have the 360 version, so I can't say I'd buy it anyway. But it's an odd excuse.

Borderlands 2 menu's were a complete mess and I had the pc version (although they did look nice). The Wii U version probably wouldn't have made the menus any better than the PC version, but it still would have been nice to see it land on the console.

Eh, not the best sounding excuse IMO. Admittedly I'll probably just get both games for my PC at some point, but having a double pack on Wii U for about $50-$60 would be pretty cool too.

And here I thought the real reason was simpler that the two games have different publishers. Aliens is published by Sega who want to support the Wii U.

Maybe because they don't have the money. It's one of the major reasons why I don't have one yet.

My reasons:

-X360's software lineup isn't compelling to me besides a few download/arcade games
-Already too late to consider buying PS360 when the next consoles are already around the corner- therefor buying a WiiU is smarter as it's going to get supported for 4-6 years vs PS360 which only have a year or two left. So, I'm not paying $200-$300 for PS360 and another $400 on PS4720
-Using my brother's old 360... And I'm not impressed or interested in the system much at all... His PS3 on the other hand, I am interested but he won't share that...

I think my reasons are justified.

And I call bull... Borderlands would be a perfect fit for WiiU. Motion Scanner for Aliens is cute, but really... I personally don't find that exciting or that useful. Always wanted Borderlands on my computer (Mac) and I could but the original is still $30 on Mac App Store and steam lacks the mac client in their store...

There are some times when just having a map on a separate screen makes a big difference. This would have been one of them. Why they would pass up create potentially the best console version of the game is beyond me.

And no, people aren't obligated to own another console just to play this one game. And even though I own a PS3, I'd far rather have a GOTY edition on a console that gives me better map access and inventory management.

Always wanted Borderlands on my computer (Mac) and I could but the original is still $30 on Mac App Store and steam lacks the mac client in their store...

FYI, the Mac version was added to Steam last week, and supports SteamPlay, so if you own the PC version you get the Mac one also. On sale right now for $30.

They should make a WiiU version... and release it 6-18 months from now. Wait for the sales of the console to go up. Right now, there simply isn't money to make off the WiiU.

But really, the WiiU GamePad would really help the awful Borderlands menus. Those are terrible to deal with. You could easily switch stuff on the fly, and have a more set "rotation" of weapons.

I never thought of that. But now that I have, holy freaking Molgera. That would be amazing, and would be a serious selling point.

Add that to an awesome means of making the inventory one of the games' strong points (instead of weak points), and a WiiU edition of any Borderlands game sounds like a match made in heaven!

If people don't have the money, what business do they have spending up to $350 on a Wii U and then buying like 4 launch titles? They could be buying a PS3 or 360 and get all these games they missed out on for piss cheap.

Money's not really a valid excuse. "Oh, we don't have the money", but certainly have the money to buy Wii U and Wii U games full price. Not everyone, but a lot of people act like this.

Pretty much this.

One of the biggest BS things with Wii was the *need* to have motion controls. Nobody WANTS motion controls with these games other than shooting.

While I see where they are coming from, they are only looking at it from the point of view of someone who already owns Borderlands. They're not going to buy another copy anyway. You're missing the point, Gearbox. People want it on Wii U so they can play it. They honestly don't care if there are gamepad/motion controls.

You missed the point, or are purposely being stupid about this.

It's not on Wii U (presumably) because they don't have a gimmick to justify people running out and buying a Wii U version when they can go out and buy the PS360 version for less money, or on PC/Steam for even less more likely.

They're not saying there is an OMG WHAT THE PS360 CAN DO pull. Just that there's no reason, in their mind, to port it. Their logic is flawed, at best, but you're missing the point it seems.
