For those who don’t know, EA and the FIFA brand have parted ways, which means no more ‘FIFA’ branding for EA’s hugely popular soccer series. It also means some other tweaks and changes are on the way, but the real story is that EA felt their series could do just fine without paying the increasingly exorbitant amount FIFA was asking for.

We reported on the EA/FIFA split when the news originally broke, and we also revealed that EA would be renaming their soccer series EA Sports FC. Then in April, we found out that EA Sports FC 24 would indeed be coming to Switch, thanks to an announced from the official Switch Facebook page. Now the only question left is when can we expect it?

While EA hasn’t officially shared a release date, a dataminer has dug up potential details. According to notable dataminer billbil-kun, EA Sports FC 24 will see release on Sept. 29th, 2023. (h/t VGC)

Of course, another big question is what will the Switch version of FC 24 be like? Will it be yet another reskin/roster update of the previous year’s FIFA game, or will EA go all-out this time around? Hopefully we get some insight soon.

EA going all-out. I laughed hard at that one.
