How big of a Final Fantasy VI are you? Consider yourself a super fan? If so, you’ll probably really want Square Enix’s next collectible item from the series, but you better have some deep pockets.

Square Enix’s ‘Masterline’ series of merch is a premium lineup of figurines, statues, and more from various games. Their latest offering in the Masterline series is a 1/6 scale piece for Final Fantasy VI. There are going to be just 600 of these pieces made, and 150 of them are going to Japan.

Here’s the real kicker. Square Enix is asking for over $11k for just ONE of these statues! Yes, you read that right. The price is actually north of $11,500, which seems like an incredible amount to ask fans to cough up. Are there really 600 Final Fantasy VI fans out there who’ll pay this price no questions asked? Reservations are open now, so I guess we’ll find out!

On an amusing final note, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi caught wind of this statue, and he was also taken aback by the pricing. Sakaguchi took to Twitter to share a statement that roughly reads, “Isn’t this a bit much? Are you okay, Square Enix?”.

Crazy! Absolutely CRAZY! I'd like to know answers to some questions over time. Like how many of these they end up selling, will they plummet in value from the $11,500 RRP, or go up? And what I'd really like to know is how much these cost to produce, compared to what must be insane mark-up in my opinion?
