The Game Awards 2022 has now been dated for December 8th, 2022, host Geoff Keighley has announced via Twitter. It’ll be hosted live in LA’s Microsoft Theater and streamed live all around the world.

The Game Awards has brought with it many exciting Nintendo reveals in the past, showing off exciting things such as Sephiroth and Joker joining Smash Bros. and the first gameplay for Breath of the Wild. Nintendo have also taken home quite a few awards, with Metroid Dread earning a Game of the Year nomination last year and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild winning the highly coveted Game of the Year award in 2017. Here’s hoping we’ll get to see some more exciting reveals and we’ll have some of the great developers behind some of our favorite games get the rewards they deserve.

2021 didn't really have anything besides a Monster Hunter trailer, so I'll try and keep my expectations in check.

That said, if there were ever a time for more Breath of the Wild 2 news, it'd be this year.
