Masahiro Sakurai is back with yet another video in his game development series, and this one falls into the Design Specifics category.

Have you ever found yourself exploring a huge world in a game, only to be looking exclusively at the map instead of the game itself? Sakurai says that when you’re creating a game, you should always be aware of where the player will be looking.

I remember this being my biggest issue with Burnout Paradise. The older Burnout titles were track-based and hyper-kinetic and encouraged a lot of interaction between the cars. Paradise races were around random city streets and just felt like some kind of Minimap Racer and kind of boring.
