Conan O’Brien will be the first to admit that he’s behind the times. He’s not up to snuff when it comes to anything tech-related, and longs for the days when computers took up entire rooms, radios only offered A.M., a TVs were giant pieces of furniture. While many know of Conan’s lack of knowledge when it comes to modern living, sometimes it’s still surprising to learn how unaware he is.

On the most recent episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, we hear a pretty hilarious and embarrassing story about Conan. During a Zoom call with a handful of other Team Coco staffers, Conan caught a glimpse of the living room behind one of his employees. Conan liked the living room design so much that he actually commented on it, telling the staffer he thought their setup was really creative.

As you might be able to guess by now, Conan wasn’t looking at a real living room. The staffer was using Zoom’s greenscreen feature to add an image of their Animal Crossing: New Horizons living room behind them. Conan tried to defend himself by saying the Zoom window for the chat was rather small, but the rest of his staff doesn’t buy that excuse at all!

Thanks to Nintenho for the heads up!
