On Saturday 24 November, issue 129 of games™ goes on sale worldwide with a never-before-seen sliding cover treatment to celebrate the release of Wii U and Mario’s long awaited return.

To mark the arrival of the first new Nintendo home console in six years, games™ has joined forces with Nintendo to deliver an interactive sliding magazine cover. Inspired by New Super Mario Bros U, and its introduction of an environment-manipulating fifth player, elements of the cover of the magazine can be changed by pulling out the background card – the back of which shows the full line-up for what is surely Nintendo’s most important launch to date.

“Creativity and imagination are at the heart of Nintendo’s values, so it’s a pleasure to work with a magazine that feels the same way during the run-up to the launch of Wii U,” commented James Honeywell, head of consumer marketing at Nintendo UK. “games™’s fun and unique interactive cover is just the sort of thing to capture the innovation of New Super Mario Bros U and commemorate the excitement of Wii U’s UK launch on 30 November.”

“It’s always exciting creating something that nobody else has tried before,” added Rick Porter, Editor in Chief of games™, “and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. The industry has been waiting a long time for a new console, and partnering with Nintendo to create a cover for games™ so creative and memorable is the ideal way to usher in the next generation of consoles.”

The issue of games™ also features extensive interviews with the Fallout creators on their upcoming titles, an in-depth look at Sony and Microsoft’s future in gaming, and a look back at the few games that been awarded perfect games™ scores.
games™ is available at all good newsagents, travel points, supermarkets and also online at ImagineShop.co.uk. Digital editions can be downloaded from GreatDigitalMags.com.
