GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - How long can you play a game within one sitting?

For those wondering, my Mom is home safe and sound. Turns out she had an attack of pancreatitis. The docs did what they needed to and she made her way home earlier today. She has a few more check-ups and all that, but otherwise she's back in action! Thanks to all those that sent well wishes about the subject. All is good now! See you in a few, short hours.

I don't get to play as many games as I used to. Actually, that's a bit incorrect. I still play as many games as I normally would, but I don't quite have the same amount of time to play. Back in the day when I was just worrying about school and not a job, I could play all hours of the day. When I decided to do this stupid adult stuff like pay bills and all that, my play time went down severely. Now I only have a few hours each day when I can play, and those don't come until the wee hours of the morning.

I would love to have more hours to play, but like I said, taking care of responsibilities come first. Once all the works is done, then it's time for play! Of course, when that time does come around, I want to cram in as much as possible. That usually means I go light on sleep, which ends up making me regret the decision come the next morning. The thing is, I never regret it so much that I'm not willing to do it again the next night!

In a perfect world, I could sit down with a game and play for insanely long stretches without any issues. There would be not obligations to take care of. There would be no fatigue setting in. Unfortunately, that's not the way the world or my body works. There are certain limits in place that I have to abide by, otherwise I'll be in some very rough shape. I love playing games, but not so much that I'm willing to let the rest of my world crumble!

When it comes to playing solo, I can usually put in about 3 hours with a game at one time. After that point, I start to get a headache. I usually pay very close attention to games and have to sit up straight while playing. I am not one of those people that can lay down/slouch when I play. Games demand my full attention, and I think that takes its toll after 3 hours. I honestly start to feel a bit sick if I go longer! My head starts to hurt and I feel a bit weird altogether. Best for me to wrap up shop by then.

The odd thing is, that changes for me if I'm playing with someone...but only locally. If I'm playing online with a friend, the same rules apply. Doesn't matter if there's voice chat or not. After about 3 hours, I can't handle anymore and need a break. Now if that person I'm playing with is sitting right here with me, I can play ALL day/night. I don't know why that is or how it even works, but having a real-life person with me negates any issues I usually have. I've pulled some ridiculous all-nighters with friends at my side, pouring in way more than 3 hours at a time.

What's your time limit when it comes to games? How long can you play before you feel burnt out? How many hours do you think you put in with games during the week? Leave a comment and let us know!
