Did you know we did a stupid poll today? You can participate right here! Did you also know that we're super thankful for any/all your support? It's true...we think you're pretty rad. Thanks for being there for us! See you in a few, short hours.

Remember all those years when Nintendo said they weren't going to make mobile games? They trumpeted that line for a very long time. Everyone you would ask at Nintendo gave the same line, from the top of the company down to the day-to-day movers and shakers. For so long, it seemed absolutely impossible that Nintendo would ever even consider supporting mobile platforms with content. Then there was that one day when Nintendo flipped the script and said mobile content was in the works.

Turns out Nintendo was being courted by mobile companies long before their first deal was ever announced. If I recall correctly, Nintendo said that DeNA wanted to work with Nintendo at least 4 years prior to their deal actually coming to fruition. You can bet that other mobile companies also tried to get Nintendo to partner up, but that never came to be. It was a perfect storm of a million elements that connected DeNA and Nintendo with a plan to move forward on content.

It's very clear that Nintendo sees their first mobile project as a super important one. While Miitomo may not be what many expected from Nintendo's mobile debut, longtime fans can see the method to the madness. Miitomo is an important part of Nintendo's mobile plan, and that's to push mobile users to Nintendo's more traditional platforms. It's no mistake that Nintendo is typing up Miitomo with the new My Nintendo account system. Get people in with Miitomo, have them connect up with My Nintendo and then bring them ever closer to Nintendo's traditional offerings.

Nintendo has given us a very good idea of what Miitomo is all about, and now we know the rollout is just around the corner. This is the first step into the mobile market for Nintendo, but it's also a first public step towards Nintendo's future with a new account system, loyalty program and even the NX. Knowing all that, is Miitomo something you plan on downloading day one? Nintendo is aiming to get 100 million users signed up with Miitomo, and I want to know if you guys and gals plan on being part of that number!
