RUMOR - More details on EA's interest in NX, requests & partnership plans

- EA is holding meetings with Nintendo next month
- support for NX is a primary topic
- EA has NX dev kits
- EA was apparently one of the first publishers to get access to NX development hardware
- Nintendo is citing EA as a key ally when it comes to making its next console a success
- multiple meetings are lined up for March
- EA has been discussing several points with Nintendo relating to marketing
- meetings will apparently decide how much support EA will be giving Nintendo in the near future
- these discussions may be directly related to EA sports
- EA wants "a detailed plan" on how Nintendo intends to win over sports fans with NX
- EA wants to know how Nintendo intends to build up a large enough "sports" audience on NX
- EA wants Nintendo to spend more advertising dollars during televised sporting events
- EA says both Sony and Microsoft spend a large portion of cash during such events
- EA will be asking Nintendo to consider shipping NX consoles bundled with leading EA Sports titles
- this would include FIFA and Madden
- during a December meeting between EA and Nintendo executives, an EA exec "criticized Wii U for not having entertainment apps for MLB.TV, NBA, WWE Network, NHL Gamecenter Live, and the NFL"
- EA feels that this is a key reason for Sony's success among sports fans with the PS4
- EA wants to make sure NX is able to run such apps
