Kerbal Space Program developer hit with accusations of unfair wages, crunch time

GN Version 5.0

Kerbal Space Program is on its way to Wii U after already becoming a major success on PC. One would think that all is just great at Squad, the dev studio that created the game. If rumors are to be believed, that's not the case at all.

While the game is doing fantastically well and more success is on the way, it seems that multiple employees are unhappy with how the studio operates. Claims of wages amounting to $2,400 a year have come floating in. It's important to point out that the studio resides in Mexico, where minimum wage is $100 a month. That said, the studio employs numerous international devs and asks for 40 hours a week in work time.

We're also hearing that the studio is the latest in a long string of game creators that ask their employees to really hunker down on development, making for extremely long work hours and unfair amounts of time without rest.

Squad is yet to comment on this matter. If/when they do release a statement, we'll be sure to share it with you.
