Social media study shows The Legend of Zelda: BotW the most talked about game of E3 2016

Well I'll be damned...it looks like Nintendo's crazy approach to the first day of E3 was a good move. I mean, look at those results. It's not even close when compared to other games! The distance between first and second place is pretty damn sizable.

The study also takes a look at Nintendo's coverage in general for the first day of E3.


Kicking off at 12pm EDT on Tuesday Nintendo’s Treehouse live stream has so far almost solely focused on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

That hasn’t deterred commenters getting involved, though. As the stream began Nintendo got 20k mentions in an hour.

Mentions trailed off later in the day, but we counted 73.3k mentions of Nintendo throughout the day.

Games wise, Nintendo fans were treated to a look at Pokémon Sun and Moon ahead of the lengthy Legend of Zelda segment. We found 5.8k mentions of the upcoming Pokémon title throughout the day, though they were dwarfed by the 75k Zelda mentions.
