PQube, Bristol (26th July 2016) Spanish publisher BadLand Games will be hosting a Guinness World Records attempt event at the Ukie offices on Wednesday 27th July 2016, with London based developers Roll7.

Roll7’s Assistant Producer Samuel Brayley will take on these (death defying) challenges which involves him playing through ‘OlliOlli’ and ‘OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood’ performing the Tricktionary-related trophies in the fastest time possible.

Roll7 are well known for their game related stunts (having taken BunnyLord to Westminster during last year’s election https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpoxT6CsOB8 ). Adding a World Record is the next big move. Simon Bennett, Director of Roll7 comments “Sam is meant to be working on game balance for our next IP, but I guess if it’s for a world record, that’s fine! Roll7 Office betting on the event begins today! Good Luck Sam!"

To make the event that extra bit special, BadLand Games will live stream the Guinness World Records attempt to their YouTube channel to try and capture that momentous occasion when Sam finally sets the record(s).

A special thank you goes to Ukie, who will be hosting the event in their London office. Ukie, as a non-profit business, has always strived to help small to large businesses, developers and publishers.
Dr Jo Twist OBE, CEO of Ukie, said: “We’re delighted to play host to this world record attempt. BAFTA winning OlliOlli and OlliOlli2 are great examples of games that require a great deal of skill and practice, so we’ll all be watching Sam with skill envy and hope he sets a high bar.”

With the up and coming ‘OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition’ being released on August 12th 2016 as a PS4 boxed exclusive, this is a great stunt to get fans of skateboarding games and/or the OlliOlli franchise to buy, try and beat Roll7 at their own game! Bring it on!

Editor of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition Stephen Daultrey said “With record-breaking so massive in gaming, it’s great that games companies are approaching us with novel record ideas. OlliOlli is a brilliant, BAFTA–winning series and this record attempt is a real genuine test of skill. The games already feature in our new Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2017 (out 8th September) and with this new record category, it might feature in next year’s book too. I’m sure there will be plenty of fans keen to challenge for this title."

Stay tuned and follow us on social media where we’ll post the live link to the event.
