PR: eGames Announes Titles for Rio de Janeiro Showcase

London: August 10, 2016: The International eGames Committee are pleased to announce the titles to be included in the Rio de Janeiro eGames Showcase taking place on the 15th and 16th of August. The showcase will take place at British House in the historic Parque Lage in Rio De Janeiro.

The event kicks off on Monday 15th August with the best SMITE players from Brazil participating in a show match that will highlight the skill and teamwork required to excel at this title.

“Hi-Rez Studios and Level Up are very excited to be part of the Rio de Janeiro eGames Showcase” said Henrique Fajardo, Level Up’s Product Manager for SMITE in Brazil, “We have some of Brazil’s top SMITE players competing at this first event”.

On Tuesday 16th August the action switches to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros as a number of top players from around the world including: reigning EVO Champion, 

Ally (Canada); the winner of Smash Factor 5, MKLeo (Mexico); plus, Larry Lurr (USA) and J. Miller (Great Britain) go head to head in a tournament format on Wii U. Calling all the action will be top Casters Keitaro and juiceDoom.

Fans will be able to catch all the action from both days via a stream provided by industry leaders, ESL.

Launched on April 6th 2016 as part of the London Games Festival, the eGames is an international eSports competitive video gaming tournament where national pride is the prize. The IEGC is a not for profit initiative, and has been set up with the aim of positively shaping the future of competitive gaming. The UK Government is supportive of the ambitions of the IEGC. The IEGC’s International Advisory Board will assist in running the eGames and assist with: instilling good governance, responsible gaming and ensuring the competition is inclusive and diverse.
