Tiny Galaxy dev leaving the game industry

GN Version 5.0

I’ve decided to officially leave the game dev industry after 3 long years. It was fun, it was stressful, it was hectic and it was a learning experience for sure. I made a few really awesome friends, made even more enemies and met some really weird people too all thanks to game dev… but I think it’s time to move on. So much time, money, blood, sweat, tears, and your souls goes into even the smallest games, with little to no payout or way to support yourself doing it. Sites like Nintendo Life are out to wreck and slander any indie dev they can get ahold of. All in all in wasn’t a negative or positive experience making games, it just kinda was there in my life. So I’m out now.

I don’t know what the future of Tiny Galaxy is on Xbox One or the Wii U as of now. Nintendo just straight up won’t respond to my emails or attempted contact to find out what all they need for the Wii U update, and the Xbox one version is still awaiting a plug in that’s needed for my engine…. and there is no ETA on that…

I’m leaving the game industry to work on another passion of mine, comic books. I’ve started a comic book studio with a few people and we’re well into working on multiple books which were looking into having Image hopefully publish, or we will self publish and distribute through Diamond on our own. Already our local comic book stores are ready and willing to stock our books and help get the word out. So far it’s all been 1000X better than working in games and I couldn’t be happier.
Thanks to all the supporters of Tiny Galaxy and Kick Assteroids over the years, you all were awesome!
