Coming from Phil Elliot, Director of Community & Indie Development at Square-Enix London...
- No specific plans to put games on Switch
- this is not due to lack of interest
- haven't had enough info at this point to see if any of the titles will be appropriate for Switch
- need a little time for devs to figure out what they need to do to port
- on a personal level, Phil is glad to see the excitement around Switch
- believes Nintendo to be an important part of the industry
- says it's important to have a third player that isn't constantly focused on pushing tech like Sony/Microsoft
- if Nintendo was to try and do what Sony/Microsoft do, he doesn't think it would be worthwhile for gamers
- waiting to see how Switch is received and how sales are
- believes the Switch is exciting
- believes Unity support on Switch is very interesting
- sees a lot of indie Unity dev games would find Switch a natural home
- sees the Switch as exciting for big/small teams alike
- looking forward to release day
