GN Version 5.0

The following info comes from a Famitsu interview with Splatoon 2 producer, Hisashi Nogami...

- since Splatoon has been out for 2 years, players have already had plenty of time to get familiar with it
- this is why a sequel was made, instead of creating more new content for the original
- the idea for the sequel was “going back to zero”
- the game will start with a limited number of weapons, but more will be added on a regular basis
- eventually, there will be more weapons in Splatoon 2 than in the original
- Nogami wants to see how trends will evolve as more weapons are added
- returning weapons all come with brand new sub-weapons
- he hopes that players who played Splatoon will try them all to see the differences by themselves
- weapons have been rebalanced and received various adjustments
- all the weapons from Splatoon will return in Splatoon 2
- the Shooter family of weapons haven’t really been changed, since they’re already pretty versatile
- Shooters will remain as the “basic” weapon
- single player Hero Mode reconfirmed once again
