In last week's Nintendo Direct, we saw a slew of announcements. One of them was that Tencent's Arena of Valor was coming to the Switch. That game is known as “Honor of Kings" in China, and it happens to be one of the country's most popular games.

While nothing official was announced, people familiar with the thinking of Nintendo and Tencent executives claim this could be the first showing of Nintendo's plans to push into China with the Switch.

“This is very positive in the longer term in getting Chinese publishers supporting the Switch.” - Macquarie Capital Securities analyst David Gibson

“Tencent’s approach outside China has been to invest in gaming companies that augment its existing games and pipeline in China. Now we’re seeing Tencent start to bring its own internal games to the West.” - Daniel Ahmad, an analyst at Niko Partners

Once again, Nintendo hasn't made an official statement on any plans to move the Switch into China. If they do have something like that planned, we might hear first details from the upcoming investor briefing next month.
