GN Version 5.0

A portion of a GamingReinvented interview with composer Tomoya Tomita...

GR: Moving onto Kirby’s Epic Yarn now. This game’s part of a series with a more consistent style to its music, so did Nintendo give you any guidelines for how the soundtrack should sound?

TT: No, Kirby’s Epic Yarn was originally supposed to star a new character. So, I was able to freely make music for it. It was only changed to a Kirby game several months before it was completed.

GR: There were also some lovely remixes of older Kirby songs there too. So, what was it like making them? What was it like creating remixes of songs from games like Kirby’s Adventure and Kirby Super Star?
I didn’t remake the old Kirby songs. They were made by HAL Laboratory.

TT: Once the character was changed to Kirby, they decided the final area was to use their songs.

____________

The title was originally going to star Prince Fluff as the main character, but then it was changed to include Kirby, and Prince Fluff was relegated to second player.
