GN Version 5.0

Super Mario Maker 2 hands-on previews have come in, and with them comes a new round of info. First up on the list is some more detail on the game's story mode, which you can find below.

- Mario and Toad laborers are seeking to rebuild Princess Peach's castle after it was destroyed
- Mario undertakes various listed jobs to earn coins needed to rebuild each section of the castle
- there's one Toadette called Chief who is overseeing the construction
- there's a Toad called Taskmasker who gives you the jobs
- there are various other Toads who are doing the rebuilding
- Toadette notes that her entire crew is slacking off
- the crew actually lack the materials needed to complete their tasks, which requires Mario's intervention
- some text references the bosses who "ask someone to do something that they don't want to do themselves."

Next up, we have a tidbit about the game's Night Mode. While all building tools are unlocked from the get-go, the option to go with a Night Mode theme isn't. The good news is that Night Mode is easy to unlock. All you have to do is drop the Angry Sun in your level, move the cursor over him, and then press and hold A. Once you choose the option to switch over from Sun to Moon, the Night Mode option is available.

It's worth pointing out that Night Mode isn't available in the Super Mario 3D World theme, but all other themes support it.
