The only reason I have this marked rumor is because I don't know if this is really Charles Martinet's Twitter account. I've gone through and check the other posts on his account, and it certainly does seem like the real deal. With that said, read on with caution. You can find three of the posts below.

Huh, well IF true (and that's a big IF, Twitter is not the most reliable source ever), I'm guessing a new Mario sports game, or maybe Mario Party 9.
Or it could be Mario Paint or something else from
left field. But I see no way it could be a main series Mario game. They already have one being released next month and another being released in about a year or so.

I would only expect a new sports game, Mario Party 9 (it's been a long time), or uhh... something DSi-related.
Well a new Mario game would be "not a B game" and with NSMBWii and Galaxy 2 on the way, it would be a surprise.
But still, if this isn't just a Twitter troll egging people on then I'm saying it's a Mario sports game or Mario Party 9.

If NSMB can't have online, I really don't see it working in Mario Party.
I never thought about online play awesome but I wouldn't want party board online it would take to long and since you can't quit while online it would be long and dull but if they made like a big amount of minigames online I am all for it.
Why would they need to re-record the voices on a game like that?

While revising the game for the port they might have found a couple of problems in the voices.
Yes Mansion 2 where all the people from the mushroom kingdom have been enslaved by boos which make them look like zombies sort of an epic mickey feel and Luigi and E. Gadd must save the mushroom kingdom by sucking the boos out of them.

You do know if would be alot easier to do a Mario Party online than a NSMBWii right. Online isn't something they just add to games. Depending on the game determine how well it's going to work.
Compare fighters online to shooters. Fighters need quick response. That's why on average if their setup is not perfect. You always have issue with them. With all the movements on NSMBwii compared to the control movements of MParty. A online Mario Party would be easy even for Nintendo.
As for the new Mario game, it's probably another sports game or something.
I think your probably right about that. But I don't see real games of Mario Party working out too well online. Nintendo's online service isn't exactly user friendly, and if someone were to disconnect out of a game for whatever reason, I don't imagine they would be able to rejoin. And Mario Party games, if you include the board game part, are kinda long. They could cut the board part out and stick to a certain number of minigames, but I don't know how fun that would be. Plus, I'm not sure Mario Party is the kinda game folks would want to play against random opponents in, and gathering up friends for an online session might not be easy. And in Mario Party, a lot of the fun comes from playing with people around you.
But yea, I just don't see an online Mario Party mode being anywhere near as complete and fun as a local multiplayer mode, and that's why I don't see online working out well.
That's a bit, errr, farfetched, I doubt that would happen. But still, controlling the Poltergust 3000 with the wiimote would feel great!

I really didn't like the last Mario Party but if they do some cool stuff with it that makes it as good if not better than the original few I'd be interested. Especially if it was focused on online in the right ways...
A new Luigi game would be pretty boss, too, if it was handled correctly.
If it's something brand new entirely and completely original then I guess we'll find out...ya know...MAYBE at E3, but likely not.
I mean, we've got TWO great-looking classic Mario games to look forward to before then. So I think I'll focus on those first!

I'm sure Nintendo has made it perfectly clear that he is not supposed to talk about projects that are unannounced. Also, it seems weird that he is teasing this so much and even goes on to say that it isn't "NSMB Wii or Super Mario Galaxy 2". It just seems weird that he would even say that...

Yeah, I'm still pretty sure it's fake... but it is kind of weird (or creepy) that someone would go through that much work for a fake Twitter.
Also, if you go to his homepage it looks like it was made in 2001 and never updated again.
C'mon Nintendo. Between games with Mario and NPC titles that is by far the sheer, sheer majority of the 1st Wii lineup. We have TWO major Mario series titles on their way, one in a month. WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER ONE ANNOUNCED.

Even though it's basically the same game every time/has been done to death, and no other franchise aside from Final Fantasy has had more sequels (hell, at least Final Fantasy started way back on the NES!)
The only glimmer of hope I have is that I can't imagine needing them to record new lines for another Mario Party game... but they could just be doing that to say, "HEY, LOOK IT'S DIFFERENT FROM MARIO PARTY 8/7/6/etc.!"
Mario Party COULD be decent IF it used Wii MotionPlus and had a reworked board system to get rid of the biggest complaints the series has had for all its iterations so far.
I dunno, I kind of like the idea of a new DS Mario title. Mario titles are plentiful already for the Wii in the works, it'd just be dumb to announce another. :\

If the idea were tweaked a bit, I could quite like that! Maybe the 'mansion' in that game is the Castle? And it's bosses are the possessed friends (well.. @ Wario) of Luigi that he has to free! Could make for a cool story, says I.

No. Seriously, no. Mario Party is done. It can no longer be decent. It is done.
Everything that could've been done has been done. Motion control aside, the creativity aspect is in the gutter, and all motion control would do is end up applying to rehashes of what's already been done.
It really needs to be taken out to pasture. 8 games. Eight frigging games. What other spin-off franchise has ever produced EIGHT games? ..Between three systems at that!

Perhaps I'm being cynical and overly presumptuous... after all, this could wind up being another original Mario title and perhaps even a great one. But honestly, Nintendo hasn't given me much reason to believe in them, lately. E3 was grand, but with Nintendo's business model being what it is, I just have trouble getting excited for any "unannounced" project, as they've often ended up being oriented toward the expanded audience, or at the very least, the "Gamecube" gamers (i.e. folks who liked the quirky titles born unto the cube like Animal Crossing, Pikmin, etc., or those who eat up left-overs like Mario Party with zeal).

They're in the same group as far as I'm concerned. I truly believe they cannot be revitalized. Perhaps commercially, but not in terms of ingenuity or quality. Again, this is one man's opinion, but I just can't see myself ever being interested in another Mario Party game.
