Thanks to all that sent this in!

20 October 2009 – The Wii console is about to get an exciting new look as it launches across Europe in sleek black.

The black Wii will be available to buy in UK and Republic of Ireland from 6 November and mainland Europe on 20 November, and will come as a “Limited Edition” bundled with a Wii Remote, Wii MotionPlus and Nunchuk – all in black – as well as the exhilarating new Wii Sports Resort game and the original Wii Sports. The Wii Sports Resort black bundle will offer a total of 15 different sports and activities to enjoy.

Also launching in Europe as part of the black range of accessories will be the new black Classic Controller Pro – an enhanced version of the Classic Controller. Additional black Wii Remote controllers, Wii MotionPlus accessories and Nunchuk controllers will also be available to purchase separately across Europe from November 20 onwards.

Wii Sports Resort, which is bundled with the new black Wii, has already sold well over one million copies across Europe, and brings an entire island, along with 12 exciting sports and activities, to your living room for all your friends and family to enjoy. Each of the sports featured in Wii Sports Resort is modelled with incredible accuracy thanks to the Wii MotionPlus accessory, included with this new package.

If black is your colour then prepare to get your hands on this popular console and accessories in their new look, launching across UK and Republic of Ireland from 6 November and mainland Europe on 20 November.

Looks great, but why do they still use those crappy cardboard sleeves for the bundled discs? Can Nintendo not afford to put the games in ACTUAL cases? :|

Oooh nice, but I can't help but wonder how much cooler it would look if the light was red instead of blue... :O

Lol, still awesome all the same! I hope the 5 people who still don't have a Wii will enjoy it! xD

Wow. These will sell like hot cakes. And will it be the same price as the regular edition Wii in EU?

The term Limited Edition and Exclusive have lost all meaning now. Just another buzzword like intuitive and innovative.

Excellent deal for the PAL region.

Too bad about the lack of Wii colors in general, when Nintendo used to be cool they had multiple different looking N64s and GBAs.

Exclusivity is the cancer of gaming this gen.

Hmm, price drop, new color, new bundles... Seems almost like Nintendo is growing concerned about Wii sales.

But damn, I would have loved a black Wii at launch, Nintendo...

@Morgan Lamia

No problem. Nintendo will provide a little utility with new Wii consoles that will ask you if you have another Wii and if so, would like to transfer all your save data (including data that they disallow to be saved to SD card), console license and Shop Channel account over to your new Wii (via USB, SD card or your Wifi network). New Black Wii replaces your old White Wii!

Oh wait... Nintendo won't make it this easy.

I remember the Platinum colored GameCube being "Limited Edition". That was back in 2002 and they sold them up until you couldn't find the GCN in stores. I think the words lost meaning.

@Hongo

That and the limited edition Platinum/Silver GameBoy SP turned out to be in the bucket loads and when the GBA SP2 (the better backlight one) was released the Silver/Platinum SP was the poster child for it.

God, we're almost always thinking on the same wavelength it's scary.

I'm taking the Limited Edition stance quite seriously. After all this is the same NoE which made Super Mario Bros the Lost levels a limited edition digital download for well over a year.

I think it is :P I mean us UK gamers just about have enough reasons to stop complaining.

Though i still get really annoyed when we have to wait for games to be translated from English to European languages, even though us ENGLISH people speak english!:P Stupid European Union.

Cant wait till this comes to the U.S. Releasing it on black friday like somebody mentioned above would do wonders for Nintendo. Damn thats sexy!

Garfitor

Its called a recession. Anyways, after the price drop wii is still right behind ps3(which had a substantial price drop) and you also have to consider wii has sold 52 million units compared to PS3's 24 million. Point is everybody already has a wii and the ps3 still has some room to grow. The funny part is that wii is still damn near close to first place with 52 million units sold.

@keyz

I don't think the Ps3 will beat the Wii this month, would be cool to see Sony give Nintendo a wake up call. After all, this competitive pricing means 360 got a price drop and even Wii got a price drop.

You do have a point, both consoles can and are still going up during this financial weather storm.

This.

I also wholly agree that most European gamers speak and know English [making this translating thing moot, bar the obvious few American-European words spellings]. Nintendo and Namco [the two biggest offenders] really need to adopt the aforementioned.
If HD resolutions and graphics are gamer's [current] standard for 2009, then worldwide releases should've been so back in 1999!

As for the thread at hand, if I didn't already have a Wii I'd want one now! :-D

Hey at least we in NA can say "we got Excitebots!" Game may have been doomed to fail, but at least they actually released it in NA unlike Disaster and Trace Memory R.

If I were rich I'd import this black Wii so I could play Disaster without having to mod my system.

We used to get Wii Sports in a proper DVD case (as well as 2000 points card). Now we get everything in cardboard...and the Wii points have gone up in price.

Well the cardboard is for recycling / costs purposes I'd presume, and Wii Points have always been overpriced and just plain tedious [all the three consoles' point systems are actually].

wow, so we Europeans got Disaster DoC and are getting the Classic Controller Pro AND the black Wii?

is this bizarro world?

I already have a cc pro (imported it this summer) and I love it, its japanese packaging will still make it a collectible :P but damn I've wanted a black Wii since day 1! But I won't replace my Wii with a black one right now, even if I'd love too...I don't want to lose all my saves and everything.
Happy happy joy joy, European brothers and sisters! About bloody time they started giving a s*it about our continent!

Yeah, how many PS2's were sold to people who's ps2's broke? How many families are there where each of the kids have a ds?
