If this week were like any other, we'd be flooded with news from Famitsu. For one reason or another, that flood hasn't happened yet. Of course, the dry spell has lead many to start speculation on why there's no issue information out on the net.
One of the bigger rumors going around is that the current issue isn't in subscribers' hands because of Nintendo. Apparently, Famitsu might be holding out on their issue to coordinate an announcement with Nintendo. Of course, this is nothing but speculation at this point, but we do know that Nintendo has a new game to announce, and Charles Martinet is recording voicework for a new Mario project. Whether both these tidbits are related to one another is unknown. Thanks to Jarrod for the heads up!

Maybe its the yearly October announcements that we haven't received yet this year. I mean they have to start talking about their future plans with investors.
Wow, so we get a teased IGN title from Nintendo. We get Martinet saying he did the voice work on a new Mario game. And now we have Famitsu coming late amidst rumors of a huge Nintendo announcement. It could all just be coincidence or someone trying to drum up speculation. But OOOOOOOO if it isn’t!

Not only all this, but apparently some retailers have been told to reserve shelf space for a Nintendo title, as well.

The only Mario game I want them to make is Mario Strikers 3. The last games was the first or one of the first games to sue the NWC on Wii and now that it has been more explored, I think a new entry would be good. But since NLG just released punch out a couple months ago, I don't see it being ready anytime soon.

After reading the quote on how he said "crazy fun" I'm really starting to think this is Mario Party 9. It's been 2, almost 3 years since 8 and I think Nintendo finally realized with how well it sells, they should take it more seriously.

I love hype and speculation! So much fun! Can't wait to find out if these events are connected and which game IGN and/or Charles was hinting at.

I didn't think much of all this at first...but it is a bit perplexing how the stars seem to be aligning. Best case scenario does seem to be the unveiling of Zelda Wii...but that's just a best case scenario. And that may or may not even include this particular rumor.
It's their Epic Mickey exclusive. Obviously.
