As enticing as the $10 coupon is, I can't wait an extra few days! I preordered mine at Gamestop so I can get it on launch day. I hope they end up doing a midnight launch at my GS. Depends on the amount of preorders, though.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I absolutely Hate the NSMB themesong. It's annoy and gets on my nerves. Frankly it's a game spoiler. But apart from that the game does look awesome.
One question- What's the difference between the penguin suit and the Ice flower- both seem to shoot out ice balls that freeze enemies. Is this an example of a double up item?
It's like the Leaf versus the Tanooki suit in SMB 3. Penguin suit has the same basic ability, but also enables belly-sliding on ice, and better underwater maneuverability.
Did the graphics and music get... better? I don't remember it looking and sounding this good.
I'm hotly anticipating this game right now. At first, I felt a little bummed out after New SMB DS, but these videos 100% convinced me it won't be like that game. (I don't hate that game, just disappointed with it...) A little worried about the widescreen (because I don't have a widescreen TV, and it looks like maybe the game was made for one), but I'm sure it'll be fine without.
I can already tell that this is going to be the game I love to hate because I am going to die so many times most likely and drive myself insane...in the best possible way =]

of course, thats probably because nintendo KEEPS USING THE SAME THEME FOR EVERY VIDEO. an underwater or bowser castle theme wouldnt hurt for God sakes.
I like the NSMB theme. After a while of playing NSMB it gets stuck in your head. The Brawl remix was awesome too. May not go down in history like the original SMB theme, but it's still likable to my ears.
Anyway, cool vids. Can't wait to play this by Christmas!
So awesome. I'm really stoked to pick up this game. I can't believe back at E3 I had no interest and thought it was some gimmicky multiplayer remake of the DS game. I think I'll pre-order it from Amazon soon.
@Inneverate: Actually when I first heard the song back in '06 I thought it was alright, but not as a main theme song, rather as the occasional level song. It's one of those songs that when over used, gets on your nerves.
Now a song that I do love is the Super Mario Land theme, it was a classic and I wish they would bring it back in some form!
Did they actually take out the little freezing every time someone grabbed an item and stuff that everyone hated??? If so I'm very happy that developers actually listened to the gamers
I like what I am seeing, and I can see it score well in reviews. Mario games are usually the type that I enjoy the most have the longest experience with (more than twenty years since the original Super Mario Bros.).

I couldn't care less whether Nintendo continued with the SMG series engine for the next console Mario or whether it goes cel-shaded like WW did for the Zelda series tbh. I don't want super-shiny 'photo realistic' games. You don't need any artistic direction [or hard work needed] to do that.
If I was personally picking the next console Mario visual direction, though... I'd go with [either of these] of the DA artist Orioto's:
If you would watch others vid's, you'll notice that this mario game has the most differend music tracks of a mario 2d game.
Main theme song is great, and the other ones are even better.
At this moment, it's the best looking 2d game on any system. And with that i mean we do not compare it to a 2,5d game. I think it would destroy the gameplay.
Why do we anyway need a mario game with realistisch textures...?

Yeah, I wouldn't say that I like it but it's catchy.. maybe is not stage music.

Game looks amazing, though. Just wish Miyamoto had been a little less absurdly lazy/unimaginative on the whole Peach problem.
