I find the rule for indie game success interesting since it pertains to low-end, mid-end, and high-end success with percentage of games pertaining to them.

PSN's low to mid to high end hardware maximum units with percentage of games fitting that go like: 35,000 units sold (40%)/ 75,000 (40%)/ 300,000 (20%).

XBLA: 50,000 units sold (40%)/ 100,000 (40%)/ 500,000 (20%)

And as posted, WiiWare's: 20,000 (60%)/ 40,000 (30%)/ 350,000 (10%)

Those are piss-poor WiiWare trends! Sure, a lot of low-end titles are shovelware, but a lot of gems are lost in the shuffle. Sure, those trends could be alleviated if you look at retail game performances like okami, Madworld, and Dead Space: Extraction or even Apple's Gaming App Store with 85% belonging to the low-end! :P

But still, never hurts to actually advertise things, Nintendo marketing team!
