It's a shame that this game will probably never live up to the promises of its concept art. Then again, how many games do?

One of their articles stated "months from release". So maybe it's not all that long anymore. Would make sense too, a reveal like this and NOT having 1-2 years of wait still.

@SpinachPuffs

Most games fall flat in that area really. Especially the ones with really great concept artists. It's not easy to capture the feel of a painting or drawing into the 3 dimensions, even less so if the concept you work from is way above your own skills as an artist.

In addition I'm not sure the world they show is the best one to use as first. It has that "many different clashing bright colors" look. Having only a few colors in your palette is usually much better for setting a certain mood and more uniform look.

The graphics looks pretty crappy... Hopefully the gameplay makes up for it!

About time you started posting screens [even if they're like 2 weeks old now]!

Surely the embargo on the screens and information went out the window with that issue release of Game Informer?

Seriously. Post the scans [they're awesome].

Can't wait for this game [and the trailer tomorrow, the 28th]. :-D

yea, I just received my issue if game informer today and the graphics are nothing special. Hopefully it looks better in motion. If the gameplay is what they're making it out to be, then maybe the graphics wont matter so much.

Hmm, more colorful than I thought (which is a good thing), which I thought would be impossible for Game Informer to cover a game that uses more than 3 color palettes.

Wow. Now that I've actually seen screen shots, I must say I'm impressed.

Wow. It is sounding awesome so far. A lot of gameplay details in these picked-apart screens.

I'm stoked.

@terryxlr
No release date yet. I agree--I hope the wait doesn't feel as long as Brawl's did! That was horrible! XD

Really? I don't think the graphics are crappy at all. I actually think the game looks great and I love the art style.

Maybe when we see it in motion (trailer on the 28th), you'll change your mind.

Hmm... Seems pretty colourful and nothing like the concept art.

But then again, wasn't it supposed to be that depending on the decisions you make the scenary changes like in Fable2?

Aaand I can't read any of the text in that image.

Forget what I said then... looks like the game won't look like the concept images no matter what.

Oiye, don't remind me! Every time Sakurai posted a new delay post, a little bit of me died. It was quite sad, in more ways than one! xD

After just checking out the screens, I've gotta say, those scans didn't do the game any favors, but after seeing these bad boys, looks even better! Really starting to grow on me, and with some more polish and all that good stuff, this mubbah hubbah could turn into one beautiful game! :D

Lol, you have to go to their site first, then scroll down a bit and you'll see this little box with all the screens. Click one of them, then click it again and enjoy the awesomeness! ;D

it's no "mario killer" but it looks interesting. I think the pointer is used as the pencil , that is now a proven mechanics . I hope they are going that way .
Mickey , the characters and the 2d stage looks great . The stage not so much , well not as good as they could be.

It's not as dark as it seemed, but the story sure sounds creepy. And the screens actually look great!

As MoldyClay already pointed out, look at the art for the Gremlin village in the GI issue (the Gremlin willage of course being based off of It's a Small World) and really the screen shots match up pretty closely. It might be best to remember the "leaked" art form months ago was made during the initial planning process in 2007 and early 2008 (some art has a copyright date on it). Spector or Disney probably thought "okay, maybe some of this is just a little bit too much..." and so the game now better resembles something out of classic Disney, like during the days of Walt.

I think the game already looks great, but you know how it is, "always better in motion" (most likely because that way things like jagged edges become less noticeable). Looking forward to the London event tomorrow, I'm certain a trailer's gonna be shown then (we've already seen "work in progress" footage, so a full trailer's gotta be next). Only question now is if said trailer will show only the Gremlin village like the GI article, or if it'll show more places like The Haunted Mansion.

I think it looks good and a lot of fun, so you can be bad mickey or good mickey. Atleast that offers up a little replayability.

i would kill over 9000 people for it to be less kingdom hearts, and more alice

the epic looking concept art was so much better than this, ill still get the game, but if it still looks like mario even as the scrapper, i doubt ill enjoy it as much, and chances are low that it will get the respect it hopes for.

if the game was badass as the concept art, the ps3 kids would freak like monkeys in a rattled cage

and that would be epic, i mean, remember how they reacted to the concept art? i just love to see those guys get treated their own poison

Have to say the screens look a lot better than the scans from the magazine.

Also, most of the info in the screens were old news, EXCEPT...

~ Oswald's children can be collected to unlock something. They also can hang on you to slow you down AND eat enemies.
~ I dunno if it was previously mentioned, but Hero Mickey can have the Spatters join him.
~ Shows that things with that weird blue border are parts that can be erased/redrawn.
~ Generators, how the paintbrush works (aiming) and the fact you can destroy the phonographs playing It's a Small World.
~ Confirmation of double jumps and a spin thing.

@Eternal Rain

Ha, thanks. I wasn't expecting that comment to be brought up here. lol.

@Fuego6

If that was to the "inb4", and you are pinning that on 4chan, you're late to the internet.

It's an internet slang, an old one at that, and has nothing to do with 4chan.

You have a lot of hate for things you know nothing about. D:

@internet

How can you base it being a Mario killer or not?

You've seen screenshots of one world, and not even played it or seen it in action yet.

Will it actually kill Mario? No. Duh. But the idea is to compete as a Mario-type platformer. And it looks like it's very well going to do so.
