October 27, 2009 by RawmeatCowboy Filed Under: Nintendo in general, DSi

"We conducted no interviews. We believe it was an article based on conjecture." - Nintendo statement

Nintendo is pretending once again that the DSi with larger screens doesn't exist. We all know that it's the real deal, but the Big N loves to pretend that things don't exist until they feel like announcing them. Way to make your fans feel like you don't care about them!

If Nintendo starts acting like Apple release new hardware every year or two for handhelds, I'm out.

I'm not sure who to believe, but it doesn't seem like Nintendo to make a hardware change within the same year they launched a revision.

@Gam35

It's not a year; the DSi came out last year in Japan. Well, it's a year apart, but not within the same year.

Besides, as far as we know, if this is real, it's just a 'bigger' edition; no other improvements, same price, simply aimed at a different market; people with poor vision, like myself (Not just older people, too).

If you're not in that market, don't worry, your DSi is just fine; this isn't a redesign, a new edition, nothing like that.

I just got a DS Lite within the past year. I really hope there isn't another DS coming out. Unless its a DSi with GBA slot and full-backwards compatibility, as that's the only way I'm buying another DS.

They didn't say it doesn't exist. All they said is that they don't know where the article got their information as it wasn't from them.

Well i meant the US launch, not the Japanese one. Its not like i care about it, I'm happy with my DSi. Its just un Nintendo like to change the screens sizes out of the blue.

hey big n, how bout you guys get back to making software again. i really loved you back in the day, when i didn't have to live off of only two or three high quality titles per year.

releasing an improved dsi is really missing the point right now. how bout some games to support the hardware that you have out now? maybe a AAA title that uses the balance board? or a game that is specifically for the dsi? ooh, ooh, ooh, or fixing your antiquated online functionality!

Hilarious how yesterday they explained why they were making it, and today it's just conjecture.

@Gam35

It won't be releasing in the US this year (or maybe at all), so it still won't be within the same year.
