"- 3 difficulty modes"
OMG, thank you! I'll play on "normal" first, but if the later levels kick my ass as much as the NES games do then I'm going stright to "easy" so I can at least see the ending once.
"- 6 stages with alternate paths"
Wasn't the original version 4 stages long? Nice to see they bumped it up. So it's like a mixture of CV1 and 3 then (6 stages like CV1, but alternate paths like CV3).
"- no jumping onto/off of stairs"
Good or bad? I don't really know. >_>
"- control jumps in mid-air"
Thank goodness.
"- beat the game to open 'Classic' style which doesn't allow mid-air jump changes"
Hardcorez only, lol.
"- Igarashi is the producer"
Good to see he's still working on CV even if Kojima's team is producing Lords of Shadow.
"- M2 developed"
Huh? That one of their teams?
"- Nobuhiko Matsufuji (Dawn of Sorrow), Basiscape’s Manabu Namiki, and M2’s Keisuke Koga and Jason “Chip-Tech” Nisperos did the music"
Sweet.

I look at this game as a tribute to the 16-bit games in the series, in other words before the "Metroidvania" style came along.

@Eternal Rain
Yeah but there's nothing wrong with a little more eye candy. They could at least go with hand drawn animation.

I would've prefered one difficulty setting just in case there's the "finish the game on medium or hard mode to unlock ______"
Judgind by Contra:Rebirth's unlockable characters something tells me there is going to be some of that in this game too.
And judgin from the footage, the first stage looked kind of lengthy so 6 stages is fine.

sexy, one of the central facets of the Rebirth games is embracing 16-bit presentation on almost all counts (save for a handful of animations). Also think of it this way if you're disappointed that this game won't match the DS outings in terms of total content: $10 vs $30. That's about it

I've already seen the game in it's entirety. It's ridiculously well done for a Wii Ware title, definitely a fine addition to the classic line Castlevania. Day 1 purchase for me.

The stair information is the only thing that bothers me. Seriously, it's going to be so annoying.

Aw crap. I don't like having to walk up the stairs. I love jumping. I want Metroidvania, waah.

Except I'm kinda bummed out that the DS outings look better than a Castlevania Wii game.
