Even more from Warren Spector on Epic Mickey...

The Epic Mickey trilogy...

"I don't do anything that isn't extensible. And I will certainly feel like that I have not done my job if we can't make other games in this world with these characters. In my head, I've got two more planned. In the business world of reality, those games have not approved, and who knows if we'll ever see them. I had three games planned for Deus Ex, and you see where that got me."

On MotionPlus support in the future...

"Our goal for this game is to make sure it doesn't break if you have one [meaning Wii MotionPlus] installed. I am intrigued by it, and if we get to do more games that use this basic mechanic, I'd like to play around with it. I have some ideas about it, but not for this game."

On Vitality Sensor use

"Well, you know, now that you mention it. [Distinct pause combined with wistful look] You never know. We have some time."

Make sure you check out the links below, as they give more talk on Epic Mickey, and further discussion of Spector's ambition to make a DuckTales game.

I always thought the V-sensor would be great for a horror game. But if Disney has ideas to put it into Epic Mickey, it would certainly be an open-enough world for a creative idea to emerge.

Wow if theres a Super Wii something like that would be great leading it off. In other thoughts does the fat that even this game was going for ps3/360 mean KH3 is going there.

If it was a Nintendo game I'd tell you to not say that out loud or it'd end up being delayed until the next console comes around and end up like Zelda.

Yeah but this game is different than The Conduit. The Conduit was just another generic FPS but Epic Mickey looks like a whole new idea.

Nice to see the Vitality sensor getting some consideration for a possible use in Epic Mickey. I personally love the idea behind the vitality sensor.

@jmizzal

there's hyping and there's overhyping. this right now is at a reasonable hype level.

You also have to remember that the Conduit's hype was a result of the failed presentation and lack of interesting titles of Nintendo's E3 of 08. that game and a few others were glimmers of hope for a meh year for Wii owners.

@keyz

agreed. I think the Vitality sensor has potential, but it's going to take that one game that really puts it to use to get everyone on board.
