And my mom works for Microsoft, my dad works at Sony, by cousin works at Nintendo, my uncle works at Sega, my aunt works at Bethesda and so on and because of that I got the 720, PS4, Wii SMHD (super mega hd), Elder Scrolls X and the list goes on...

As for the actual system, from that small bit of footage, it didn't look like the graphics were affected too much. I'd like to see someone like IGN be able to actually show how games look on it compared to other DSs.

@King of Gamez

Welcome to the comments section. That's pretty much what I did for a long time as I didn't feel it was necessary until someone posted a comment so stupid I had to respond to it.

Am I the ONLY person who thinks this new DSi is totally unnecessary?

Good gravy, it's massive! But I doubt that could fit into my pockets, I mean, my regular DSi can barely fit as is! xD

I'm perfectly fine with my DSi, and I don't really feel like this upgrade is as substantial as the upgrade from the Lite (or in my case, the Phat) to the DSi. So I have absolutely no buyers remorse, and I'm extremely happy for those of you who didn't buy the DSi and were hoping for something better. Or in this case, bigger! ;D

Which is why I would consider this a home system.

@gamerpete64

No, but it doesn't mean you are right. Simple research would tell you that this is meant for the older gamer who has trouble reading the screen.

They probably want to cut back on compatibility now that they have the ability to launch a DS Virtual Console and sell us all of our games over again.

It's a bit hard to tell from this footage, but does the game's graphics look "stretched out" like what some are predicting the system will do?

I am loving that new size and wine red color. I'm also loving the new stylus set that comes with a regular stylus and pen sized one. Advanced Wars and so many other games are going to be boss on this system.

I better be able to transfer my current DSiWare games to it.

If DSi Ware will be transferable I'll consider picking it up eventually but I'm not going out of my way to get this at launch.

If I can transfer my current DSiWare games over for like $9 or something - pure win. I want me a white one.

I wonder if the bigger touch screen will affect gameplay in any (negative) way. For instance when you have to do quick and precise swipes when doing the Magikoopa special attack in Bowser's inside story.

as much as it bothers me that nintendo is releasing another model of the DSi months after I went to a midnight launch for the first DSi, this model really interests me. I've always wanted to play my DS games on a TV, so I guess this is one step closer, lol.

@Penguin1084

well you don´t have to buy it, i want the normal DSi, buy my mom want to play too, and she always complains about smalls screen, so i will wait to DSi XL. : )

is about people needs, if i go to a store and i found a PSPslim and the original PSP, i´m going to buy the original, they are just giving you options, you can buy the DSi or the DSi XL,

@manueru

See its all about options.

The only thing is when they start making DSi specific cards then people might have to start upgrading to the DSi at least any version of it. They do not HAVE TO get a DSi XL. This is the whole point it is another option of the DS platfrom. DS, DSlite, DSi, DSiXL.

Same with PSP but then the GO going download only is for those who want that(as you can see Sony has probably screwed those who want to get all their old games from old PSPs on the GO)...and a 3.8 inch sized screen.

So forget me getting a DSi regular size. I have no choice personally than to get this...for anyone who has wondered what it would be like if only Nintendo made a handhled with larger screens and a form factor than the stuff DS has been doing (not that I was complaining about it...if they never released the XL I would never have an issue with current DS/DSi screen sizes)

But the fact is they actually went and made the DSi XL. So I am getting it. Great that I couldn't afford the DSi yet.

Now I can save up and get a better system in terms of screen size that is. I mean why are you complaining about the size of the thing itself...you do realise it has TWO screens the size of the PSP right.......

AFTER THIS, the deinal 1, 2 days before then the confirmation officially(how many times must we play that game) I am also not going to be surprised if Nintendo launch a NEXT-GEN DS next year(that NVIDIA TEGRA RUMOUR) to run in parallel with the DSi/XL.

Furthermore...Now that they have done this I am not surprised if they went and released Wii HD next year to run in prallel with regular Wii SD. (until phasing out period)

Thats how i see it. Its more of a home system because you wouldnt want to carry a gigantic ds around. Nintendo is just giving buyers options.

@keyz

f*** that. Nintendo should make 1 model that caters to everyone. You don't see 3 versions of the Wii do you? No. One model that serves the needs for everyone.

All these different versions of the DS are just going to confuse people. Same with the Xbox 360 fiasco.
