"I've never done the 'Grand Theft Warren' game, you know? I don't make sandboxes; I'm a big believer in linear narrative. So every player's going to accomplish the same big mission goals, but it's how you get to that goal that's unique to you... I'm kind of an old dog. I don't learn new tricks." - Warren Spector

Spector also had some praise for the Wii in general, and seems to really enjoy working with the platform.

"...if I never make another game that's trying to be the hyper-realistic, look-like-everything-else-in-the-world game, I'm ok with that - I don't need to do that anymore. I'm really enjoying working on a platform where gameplay is it."

I didn't check the link yet so maybe I'm wrong, but in the quote he says linear narrative, not linear gameplay. I think there is a difference. I'll check the link now.

I've read that quote yesterday it was linked from gonintendo also. Too many spector says posts to look it up.

He definitely said linear narrative. Also the title of this article says - Warren Spector: "I'm A Big Believer In Linear Narrative"

Where did that switch came from, RMC?
