It appears that at one point or another, an undisclosed WiiWare project was in the works. It could very well be in the works right now. Details on the project are scarce, but the image above clearly shows that a Jackal remake was being put together at some point. Let's hope that this actually comes to fruition!

@Terranigma Freak
Oh, you're right. I keep forgetting that Konami doesn't have the TMNT license anymore.

Please God Yes! A Jackal Rebirth, and yes it was called Jackal in the US. Even though the screens make it seems like a 360/PS3 game. Like the new Rocket Knight.

@WesFX
Its a Wii game look
"That developer, Eric Testroete of Vancouver based studio Deep Fried Entertainment, doesn't name the game as Jackal, simply referring to it as an "Undisclosed" and "Unannounced Project" for the Wii."

No. It was still a cool remake of it. There's a reason why it keeps appearing on lists of top downloads on XBL and PSN.
I do wonder if this remake will see the light of day.

Because it's famous. I bought it because I thought "well, that's a remake of one of the best games of all time, how can I go wrong? Let's play this!"
This game made me very very very sad, and look at the reviews. I love the original version but the remake is completely disappointing.

I remember this game from when I was little! My brother had borrowed it from someone else (as were most of the games I played back then). I remember playing multiplayer on this game. It was hard but fun!

Wow. I happened to have the original Jackal in my NES as I read this.

And videos of the NES version don't look very fun.
Besides which, ReBirth has been strictly Genesis style 2D up to this point, and this is clearly 3D. I'm thinking XBLA and/or PSN exclusive.
